Thank you to Cairns Regional Council

The council members were invited to Barlow Park for lunch in the function room above the kitchen, where meals for our recipients are prepared daily

The meal they were served was exactly the same as those delivered to our recipients on that day. It consisted of:

Carrot and Ginger Soup
Roast Chicken and Vegetables
Apple Crumble and Custard
Served with a glass of wine followed by Coffee or Tea

President Joan took this opportunity to present to the council our inaugural Community Partner Award, given only to those people or organisations who work with us over a period as partners in various endeavours to assist the community.

Thank you to all those energetic volunteers who helped with the removal from Barlow Park.

More than just a well-earned cuppa

They were treated to a slap-up meal at the Golden Boat restaurant by
local business man, Foster Lee, Chartered Accountant.

Mr Lee said "Meals on Wheels, Cairns volunteers do so much for the community, I just wanted to do something for them."

In appreciation of his generosity, he was presented with the inaugural Cairns Meals on Wheels Friendship award
